I was at Reedsburg Dam taking pictures when I saw a couple going behind the falls. Just as I snapped a picture he gave her a hug. I love the way it looks like I put some kind of effect on the picture.

My patience paid off with these great pictures. Though, I think this would have been a good opportunity to use my remote rather than get a cramp in my finger. I sat for a long time with my shutter button held halfway down so it was focused, ready at any moment to get the perfect picture. The trick is to sit still enough so you don’t scare them away!

This was the first time, thanks to my husband, that I got to try out the new healing brush tool in Gimp 2.8. It worked like a charm on the wasp and house fly who also wanted their own taste of liquid sweetness.

I need to take more pictures by the water like this, the reflection in the water makes it just that much more breathtaking.

When I look at all these tiny corn plants I think of all the work the farmer has already done to prepare the soil for these little guys. For one hope filled farmer this is his “field of dreams.” What is yours?

I have wanted to take this photo for some time now. I love the way the plant in the foreground is perfectly in focus and then as you go down the row it almost looks as if the row extends forever.

I was out for a Sunday afternoon stroll through the woods with my family when I noticed these bursts of purple along the edge of the path.

Snakes and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails,
That’s what boys are made of.
With dirt on his nose,
and scrapes on his knees,
the throwing or rocks,
and the climbing of trees,
with pockets of frogs,
and jars full of bugs
makes a sweet little boy
full of kisses and hugs!

This was taken in the basement bathroom of a downtown sporting goods store in Ann Arbor, MI. It felt like more of a scary closet with a toilet and sink added.

I love using the super macro setting to capture intricate detail seen in creation.
