Real Truth & Real Peace

I wanted to share a few photos taken in my garden this summer. The flowers may seem ordinary, but when viewed up close, their intricate beauty inspires a sense of awe and gratitude to the One who gave us such simple things to enjoy.

At a time when everything seems more complicated than ever and on the verge of falling apart, it is simply the real Truth that bring me back to the peace I’m seeking.

Jesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

John 14:6 Amp

And the peace of God, which surpasses all [a]comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Philippians 4:7-9 NASB

Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always].

We will tell the next generation

the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord,

his power,

and the wonders he has done.

Psalm 78:4

Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
    by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death—
        even death on a cross!

Philippians 2:6-8

For by grace you have been saved through faith.

And this is not your own doing;

it is the gift of God.

Ephesians 2:8

Spring 2013

Black Bird

This one was taken from my own back yard. I sat and watched the father and mother birds bringing food to the nest inside a hollowed out part of the tree. Earlier in the spring I got to see them working to build the nest that is now filled with hungry babies. This picture is of the father who is carrying some red berries, just before going into the nest.
